In recent years, my country's reliance on foreign PTA has been further diminished in the case of extremely serious international epidemics. The domestic PTA sector also experienced a fire as a result, and the use of titanium products has increased significantly.
The exceptional corrosion resistance of titanium alloys and the corrosive environment that PTA devices are exposed to have made titanium alloys the material of choice for PTA devices. It can withstand corrosion in a variety of situations that are harmful to PTA devices. Titanium is primarily employed in the PTA device as protection, including in the form of titanium-lined and all-titanium equipment. The titanium-lined equipment is made of carbon steel on the outside to bear the medium pressure, and the titanium lining is used to resist the corrosion of the medium. The all-titanium parts are entirely made of titanium to bear the corrosion and pressure of the medium.

The parts where titanium materials are used in PTA mainly include three parts: an oxidation unit, crystallization unit, and solvent recovery unit. The most serious corrosion environment in the oxidation unit is the oxidation reactor and the top 3-stage condenser. Therefore, all the equipment in contact with the process medium here is made of titanium. The most corrosive environment of the crystallization unit is the crystallizer and the top condenser. The equipment in this place is made of titanium alloy materials that meet the performance. The tubes and trays in the reboiler of the dehydration tower above 120 degrees in the solvent recovery unit are all made of titanium alloy materials of relevant grades.
It can be seen that titanium has many uses in PTA equipment, and the amount is very large. Therefore, when the domestic epidemic situation was severe in the past two years, the titanium industry still maintained a rapid development momentum, which is inseparable from the rapid development of the domestic PTA industry.
