Recently,the self-developed and manufactured 170MN high-speed forging press of Bairun Heavy Industry located in Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone has passed hot-test assessment,marking the official commissioning of the equipment.As one of China's leading high-speed forging units in tonnage,this equipment facuses on the high-temperature high-speed forging forming process for titanium alloys.It has broken foreign technological monopoly on high-end hard-to-deform metal forging equipment,representing an outstanding achievement in the independent development of China's high-end forging and pressing equipment.
Custom-developed for forging requirements of aerospace-grade titanium alloy billets,the high-speed forging unit addresses the long-standing equipment bottleneck restricting mass production of domestic high-end titanium alloy forgings.Throughout the hot test,the whole machine operated steadily with stable coordinated response of all control systems.All core performance parameters met design specifications.Continuous forging trials of large-size high-temperature titanium alloy billets were successfully completed,and the equipment's maximum load capacity as well as forging control accuracy were fully verified under real-world working conditions.
Titanium alloy is an indispensable core structural material for aerospace and high-end equipment manufacturing.The manufacturing capacity for large-size titanium alloy forgings directly determines the overall performance of domestic aerospace structural components.Insufficient domestic supply of large-tonnage high-end high-speed forging equipment has previously constrained capacity expansion and industrial upgrading of the aerospace titanium-material sector.Upon commissioning,this production line will effectively boost the capacity for large-scale precision forging of heavy-duty titanium alloy forgings and fill gaps in the aerospace titanium-material hot-processing industrial chain in Northwest China.
Supported by talent development incentives,industrial support policies of Xi'an Economic and Technological Development Zone and well-established local aerospace industrial supporting facilities,the enterprise keeps advancing technological research.Going forward,Bairun Heavy Industry will further optimize forging processes and promote technical iteration of high-speed forging equipment based on the 170 MN production line,driving quality and efficiency improvement in hot processing of titanium alloys and special alloys.The project further consolidates Shaanxi's core position in China's titanium-alloy forging industrial chain and lays a solid equipment foundation for the localization of domestic aerospace equipment.
