In recent years, domestic explosive cladding technology has achieved key breakthroughs.Large‑size titanium‑steel clad plates are gradually breaking away from previous partial reliance on imports. For wet‑metallurgy autoclaves,PTA petrochemical equipment, large‑scale heat exchangers and other projects, the domestic application of large‑format, high‑UT‑grade metal‑clad plates keeps gathering momentum.
Large‑format explosively‑welded titanium‑steel clad plates have long been recognized as a difficult technical challenge in the industry. As plate dimensions increase during explosive welding, major challenges arise regarding initiation stability, uniformity of interfacial bonding and control of edge defects.Local un‑bonded zones and excessive residual stress tend to occur easily, which has restricted the large‑scale design of domestic equipment for a long time.Stable mass‑production of single extra‑large clad plates can reduce the number of circumferential welds on equipment cylinders, directly improve the overall reliability of pressure‑bearing equipment and shorten blanking and processing cycles for downstream fabricators, delivering outstanding engineering value.
Through continuous process research, our company has manufactured an extra‑long explosively‑formed titanium‑steel clad plate and been awarded the Guinness World Record for "Longest explosively‑formed titanium‑steel clad plate".Behind this achievement lies repeated optimization of the full process system including explosive‑layout schemes, detonation‑initiation control and stress‑relief heat treatment. We have overcome the industry‑wide difficulty of consistent interfacial bonding over a large plate area, proving that domestic manufacturers possess world‑class manufacturing capacity for large‑size explosively‑clad plates.
This record is not an end,but a starting‑point for industrial application.Building on the technical experience gained from this extra‑large‑format product,we keep developing custom‑made clad plates for petrochemical, metallurgical and marine‑engineering sectors.Besides titanium‑steel clad plates,we also supply various dissimilar‑metal explosively‑clad products such as duplex‑stainless‑steel‑to‑carbon‑steel and nickel‑alloy‑to‑carbon‑steel. Our products meet stringent equipment standards including UT ultrasonic inspection and shear‑strength requirements.
Going forward,we will continue to focus on core explosive‑cladding technologies. With domestic high‑performance laminated composite materials,we help both domestic and overseas high‑end chemical and metallurgical equipment supply chains cut costs and improve quality, and deliver reliable clad‑plate solutions for more major engineering projects.
