Russian Titanium Giant Supplies Titanium Tubes For Egypt's Nuclear Power Plant

Aug 24, 2026

In May 2026,VSMPO-AVISMA,Russia's leading titanium enterprise, announced that it would supply 150 tons of high-grade welded titanium tubes for El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, Egypt's first nuclear power station. These core special materials will be widely used in key heat exchange equipment of the nuclear plant, laying a solid foundation for the steady implementation of the project. This supply marks a major deliverable of nuclear energy cooperation between Russia and Egypt, demonstrating Russia's robust strength in high-end titanium material manufacturing and international nuclear power engineering.

As Egypt's largest nuclear power project in 40 years,El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant is constructed by Rosatom and located along the Mediterranean coast in Matrouh Governorate,Egypt, with a total installed capacity of 4,800 MW.Upon full commissioning, the project will meet nearly 10% of Egypt's electricity demand, effectively ease local energy shortages and optimize the country's energy mix.The supplied titanium material features excellent corrosion resistance, radiation resistance and stability. It suits the harsh working conditions of seawater heat exchange and long-term operation under high temperature and pressure in nuclear power plants, serving as an indispensable core material for nuclear power equipment.

As one of the world's top integrated titanium manufacturers,VSMPO-AVISMA has years of expertise in special titanium materials for nuclear power and can fully meet the high-end material requirements of modern nuclear power plants. This cooperation not only advances the construction of new energy infrastructure in Egypt, but also further consolidates Russia's presence in Africa's nuclear power market, deepens bilateral strategic cooperation in energy, and sets a fine example for cross-border collaboration in the global nuclear energy industry.
