    1 Products Description

     

    GR2 titanium clad steel plate for pressure is often used in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant pressure vessels because of its excellent corrosion resistance as the contact layer with the medium and the inexpensive steel as the support of the equipment. Under the premise of ensuring the corrosion resistance of the equipment, the cost of the equipment is greatly reduced. Taking a low temperature pressure vessel produced by a pressure vessel manufacturer as an example, this paper discusses some problems that should be paid attention to during the manufacturing supervision and inspection of pressure vessels made of titanium clad plates.

     

    2 Supply and acceptance requirements of titanium composite plate

     

    GR2 Titanium Clad Steel Plate for Pressure material must have the ex-factory material quality certificate. The pressure vessel manufacturing unit must check and accept the titanium composite plate in combination with the real object, and be responsible for the authenticity and consistency of the quality certificate of the titanium composite plate material obtained. During the acceptance, in addition to the acceptance of the base material and composite material, the adhesion rate of the titanium composite plate shall also be accepted according to the requirements. The titanium composite plate shall be manufactured and inspected according to the Class B1 standard of Titanium - Stainless Steel Composite Plate (GB/T8506-2007). Titanium clad steel plate shall be supplied under stress relief condition. The base material 06Cr19Ni10 steel plate shall meet the requirements of (GB/T4237-2007); The composite material TA1 shall comply with the requirements of Titanium and Titanium Alloy Plates (GB/T3621-2007), which is the steel plate for pressure vessels; The elongation of titanium material at - 196 ℃ shall not be less than 18%; The titanium steel plate is subject to ultrasonic testing one by one according to the provisions of (JB/T4730.3-2005), and it is qualified in Grade II.

    3Welding method and welding material selection of titanium clad plate

     

    When the welding between the base material 06Cr19Ni10 and 06Cr19Ni10 adopts argon arc welding for backing and manual welding for covering, the welding material is HCr20Ni10Ti+A107 electrode; When automatic welding is used, H8A welding wire and SJ101 welding flux shall be used. The welding between the composite material TA1 and TA1 adopts argon arc welding, and the welding material is STAIR. The welding materials must have the ex-factory material quality certificate, and the manufacturing unit shall check and accept them in combination with the physical objects.

     

    4 NDT

     

    After the shape, size and appearance of the welded joint are qualified, NDT shall be conducted according to the requirements. The radiographic inspection of butt weld of stainless steel base material shall be carried out according to the requirements of (JB/T4730.22005), and it shall meet the requirements of Class AB and Class II. The weld between titanium clad titanium filler plate and titanium clad shall be subject to penetrant testing according to the requirements of (JB/T4730.5-2005), and Class I is qualified. In addition to reviewing the NDT report, the inspector shall also check the radiographs of the product. The number of radiographs shall not be less than 30% of the total number of radiographs of the container, and the reworked radiographs must be checked. The total number of radiographs less than ten shall be checked, and the number of radiographs shall be recorded.

     

    5 Pressure test and air tightness test

     

    After the NDT is qualified, the tank shall undergo 0.32MPa water pressure test and 0.25MPa air tightness test according to the requirements of the design document, and the tank shall be dried after the water pressure test. In addition, the air tightness test shall be carried out between the clad welding joint of titanium composite plate and the base layer. The test pressure shall be 0.1MPa, and the test gas shall be dry, clean and oil-free air. The inspector shall supervise the whole process of pressure test on site and confirm that the pressure test is carried out according to the requirements specified in the Supervision Regulation on Safety Technology of Stationary Pressure Vessels and design documents. After the pressure test is qualified, the pressure test report (record) provided by the inspected unit shall be signed for confirmation.
