Recently.as reported by Morocco's Bladi news website,major progress has been made on the TitanBeach Project in Morocco owned by Canada's Steadright Critical Minerals.The first mining area of the project has officially obtained a mining permit,marking its successful transition from the exploration phase to the mining development stage and bringing new changes to the global supply landscape of titanium raw materials.
The TitanBeach Project is located along the southern Atlantic coast of Morocco,between Tarfaya and Tan-Tan.It focuses on developing coastal sand deposits rich in titanium and iron.Exploration work for the project kicked off in 2025.Following systematic sampling and geological resource assessment,it now holds exploration rights covering more than 192 square kilometers.The newly approved TitanBeach One mining area spans approximately 16 square kilometers.It is operated by NSM Capital,a local Moroccan firm 76.5% controlled by Canada's Steadright.The company submitted the permit application in January this year and received official approval on August 12.
The acquisition of the mining permit represents a key milestone for project development.Nevertheless,large-scale commercial production is still some way off,with process optimization,engineering construction and multiple approval procedures pending.As the core upstream raw material of the titanium material industrial chain, newly launched overseas titanium sand projects will exert long-term impacts on the global supply and price trend of titanium feedstock.
