1. Product Introduction

Marking

The product mark of explosive welding stainless steel clad plate is composed of cladding steel number, base material steel number, size, grade code, standard number, etc. See Appendix A for the approximate comparison between the unified numerical code of stainless steel and the old grade.

Example 1: S32168 plate with 3mm thickness cladding material, Q345R plate with 16mm thickness base material, grade 2 composite plate with 2500mm width and 8000mm length are marked as: (S32168 + Q345R) - (3 + 16) × 2500 × 8000-CLASS 3-ASTM A264

Example 2: S30408 plate with 8mm thickness cladding, 16Mn grade III forging with 150mm thickness base material, and grade 1 composite plate with 4000mm diameter are marked as (S30408 + 16Mn) - (8 + 150) × D4000-CLASS 1-ASTM A264

Example 3: S31603 plate with 3mm thickness on one side, Q345R plate with 20mm thickness on the base, S30408 plate with 2mm thickness on the other side, and grade 2 composite plate with 2000mm width and 6000mm length are marked as (S31603 + Q345R + S30408) - (3 + 20 + 2) × 2000×6000-CLASS 3-ASTM A264

2. Mechanical properties

Shear test: The combined shear strength of the composite interface of the clad plate shall not be less than 210Mpa. For double-sided composite boards, different side cladding materials are reserved for the shear test.

Tensile test: For a double-sided composite plate, only one kind of cladding material is reserved for the tensile test, and the cladding material to be reserved shall be indicated by the buyer in the contract. When the thickness of the base material is greater than 40mm or specified by the buyer, only the tensile test of the base material shall be carried out, and the test results shall comply with the provisions of the base material standard.

Only the impact test of the base material shall be conducted for the composite plate, and the impact test temperature and impact energy shall comply with the provisions of the base material standard. If there is no requirement for an impact test in the base material standard, the composite plate will not be subjected to an impact test.

3. Intergranular corrosion test

According to the requirements of the buyer and through the agreement between the supplier and the buyer, the supplier can carry out the intergranular corrosion test of composite plate cladding, and the test requirements and qualification standards shall be agreed by the supplier and the buyer.

4. Packaging, marking, and quality certificate

Each composite plate shall be marked with product mark, batch number, manufacturer's name (or factory logo), production date, etc. on the surface of the cladding material at the end of the steel plate.

When delivering the composite plate, the product quality certificate (original) of the composite plate shall be provided, and copies of the quality certificates of the covering material and the base material shall be provided at the same time.

The surface of the composite plate shall be effectively protected to prevent scratches.

Other requirements shall be in accordance with ASTM A264.
