On June 19,2026,Baoti Group was officially issued a national invention patent for "A Manufacturing Method for Ultra-Thin and Ultra-Wide TC18 Titanium Alloy Structural Components",with relevant patent information publicly disclosed in late June.This marks an independent breakthrough in China's core rolling technology for high-end large-size titanium alloys,breaking the long-standing overseas technological monopoly over ultra-wide high-strength titanium plates.
TC18 titanium alloy features ultra-high strength,excellent low-temperature toughness and outstanding seawater corrosion resistance,making it a core material for FPSO floating platforms,deep-sea subsea components and aerospace structural parts.Restricted by rolling technologies in the past,ultra-thin and ultra-wide TC18 plates were difficult to form with low yield rates,and China's deep-sea offshore engineering projects had long relied on imported materials.For this development,Baoti Group's R&D team innovatively adopted an integrated process combining vacuum melting.multi-pass staged plastic deformation and precise temperature-controlled rolling.The technology address cracking and uneven microstructure issues during the rolling of large-size TC18 products,enabling stable production of large-format ultra-thin titanium alloy plates and greatly expanding material selection options for deep-sea equipment and aerospace components.
Supported by this technological breakthrough,Baoti Group's mass production capacity for large-scale titanium alloy structural parts has been fully upgraded.It can mass supply Ti80 and TC18 series wide & thick titanium plates and forgings compliant with Woodside and DNV offshore engineering standards,strongly boosting the domestic substitution of FPSO construction and deep-sea oil & gas equipment.
