There are two main methods for industrial production of stainless steel clad plates, explosive cladding, and hot rolling cladding.

 

1. The production process of the explosion-proof composite plate is to overlap the stainless steel plate on the carbon steel substrate, and space a certain distance between the stainless steel plate and the carbon steel substrate with a cushion. Explosives are laid on the stainless steel plate, and the explosive energy makes the stainless steel plate hit the carbon steel substrate at high speed, In order to achieve solid-phase welding at the interface of the two materials, considerable temperature and pressure must be generated. The interface's shear strength per square millimeter should ideally be 400 MPa or higher.

 

2. The hot-rolled clad plate process is made by rolling the carbon steel substrate and the stainless steel plate in a physically pure state under high vacuum conditions. Diffusion of the two metals during rolling results in complete metallurgical bonding. Of course, a number of technical steps should be done in the physical and chemical treatment of the interface in order to improve the wetting effect of the composite interface and improve the bonding strength.

 

What are the advantages of stainless steel composite plates?
