    1 Products Description

     

    Copper clad sheet for c11000 plates is the key material for manufacturing the cavity of high energy accelerator linear accelerator. Due to the large melting point difference between copper and steel, the inconsistent thermal expansion performance, and the requirements of large plate shape, high precision, good copper and steel bonding, as well as good weldability and special physical properties, the development of copper and steel composite plate is a subject of great technical difficulty. For this reason, the General Institute of Iron and Steel Research has studied the effects of different surface states, combination modes, heating temperatures and rolling systems of copper-steel composite plate lamination on copper-steel lamination; The critical deformation of copper-steel bonding at different temperatures was measured; A new type of isolating agent was selected; The state of copper-steel composite interface was analyzed and studied; The weldability and welding materials of copper-steel composite plate were also studied. On this basis, Chongqing Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. and Wuyang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. further carried out industrial trial production and successfully rolled large Copper clad sheet for c11000 plates after many tests.

     

    2 Selection of blank and plate selection combination

     

    The low-carbon steel is used as the blank for the laminated base and the clad cover plate, and the red copper plate is used as the clad blank. In order to facilitate the bonding of copper and steel interface, five surface states of base slab, including sand blasting, machining, nickel plating, plasma nickel spraying and copper spraying, are selected. With magnesia powder as the isolating agent, the plate stacking combination adopts two ways: "binding" and "blocking".

    3Rolling compound test

     

    Due to the large melting point difference between copper and steel, the heating system should prevent copper melting and increase the heating temperature of steel as much as possible. The rolling test is carried out under different reduction systems. The test shows that as long as the heating and reduction system is properly selected, copper and steel can be well combined. The test rolled copper and steel composite plate samples have no delamination cracking phenomenon after bending and torsion tests, and the bonding performance is good. In addition, after comparison, the sand-blasted base plate surface and the "block-strip" plate overlap combination method not only meet the process requirements but also simplify the production process, which is more practical.

     

    4 Selected new isolating agent

     

    The copper surface precision of large copper-steel composite plate is required to be high. The test shows that the selection of the existing isolating agent has a negative impact on the copper surface quality of the composite plate due to its high temperature hardness. The adoption of the new isolating agent not only greatly improves the copper surface quality, but also significantly improves the copper surface polishing efficiency.

     

    5 Industrial trial production of copper-steel composite plate

     

    On the basis of the simulation test of copper-steel composite plate, Chongqing Iron and Steel Company carried out a pilot test of industrial production. Through the pilot test, the heating and rolling process system of copper-steel composite plate was developed, and the copper-steel composite plate with a copper layer of 4mm, a steel layer of 16mm, a width of 1600mm and a length of more than 4000mm was successfully produced. On the basis of the pilot test, Wuyang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. carried out a large-scale industrial test of the copper-steel composite plate, and successfully rolled the large copper-steel composite plate (4+16) on the 4200mm ultra-thick plate mill × three thousand and two hundred × 4000 mm). At the same time, the combination form of plate lamination was further improved in the process to solve the problem of heating and gas expansion deformation of plate lamination. The new isolating agent proposed by the General Institute of Iron and Steel Research was selected, which greatly improved the surface quality and polishing efficiency of the copper layer of the composite plate.
