Earlier we said that explosion and explosion rolling are our common methods for producing metal clad plates. Can these two methods be used to produce titanium clad copper bars ?
1. The explosive method is to first put a copper rod into a titanium tube, place it evenly on the outside of the titanium tube, and use detonation to make the copper rod and the titanium tube form a composite under the action of explosive force. Because the cross-sectional size of the titanium copper composite rod is generally small, the explosive method is low in productivity and the cost is high. At present, no one uses this method in industrial production.
2. Explosive rolling method uses larger size titanium tubes and copper rods, which are explosively made into blanks, and then pass shaped rolling is used to produce finished composite bars. Compared with the direct explosion method, this method has the advantages of improving efficiency and reducing costs. The composite bars produced have better composite strength and other indicators. However, because the rolling processing volume should not be too large, that is, the elongation coefficient is not large, it is not suitable for mass production. At the same time, for the rectangular composite rod, its angle is not easy to fill. If the amount of deformation is not well controlled, crushing may occur. Due to the hot rolling of the finished product, the bending resistance of the composite rod is a little bit worse, which has an impact on the use. At present, this method is used to produce rectangular and flat rods.
