Process | |
Hot rolling | a rolling process carried out at a temperature higher than the recrystallization temperature. |
Cold rolling | a rolling process in which the plastic deformation temperature is lower than the recovery temperature. |
Annealing | A metal heat treatment process in which the metal is slowly heated to a temperature for a sufficient period of time and then cooled at a suitable rate (usually slow cooling, sometimes controlled cooling). |
Pickling | The article is immersed in an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid or the like to remove a film such as an oxide on the surface of the metal. It is a pre-treatment or intermediate treatment of electroplating, enamel, rolling and other processes. |
3. Titanium alloys - alloying
Continuous solid solution phase diagram was formed with α and β
Zirconium and hafnium have the same crystal structure and isomorphism with titanium, and form continuous solid solution with α - Ti and β - Ti

The phase diagrams of infinite miscibility with β - Ti and finite miscibility with α - Ti are as follows
V, Nb, Ta, Mo
They are all body centered cubic structure and isomorphic with β - Ti, which is called β - isomorphic element. Decrease the phase transition point and stabilize the β phase.
When the component reaches a certain concentration, the high temperature β phase can be stabilized to room temperature, which is called critical concentration CK. The smaller the value of CK, the greater the ability of stabilizing β phase. The ability of stabilizing β phase decreases in the order of Mo, V, Ta and Nb.
The results show that the titanium alloy with this kind of element has good microstructure stability, does not undergo eutectoid transformation or peritectic transformation, and can strengthen β phase and maintain good plasticity.

The phase diagrams of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Si, Bi, W, H show eutectoid transformation
The solubility in β - Ti is higher than that in α - Ti, and the (α + β) / β phase transition temperature is lower. The ability of stabilizing β phase is higher than that of β isomorphic elements.
These elements and titanium are easy to form compounds, such as TiMn (θ) and other compounds in Ti Mn system. When the alloy containing these elements is cooled from β phase region to eutectoid temperature, eutectoid decomposition of β phase occurs. These elements are called β eutectoid elements.

The phase diagram of inclusion reaction with α and β titanium is as follows
Aluminum, gallium, zirconium, tin, boron, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen
Except tin has little influence on the phase transition point, except for neutral element, other elements improve the phase transition point and expand the α phase region, which is called α stable element.
These elements are the main elements to strengthen α phase, among which aluminum and tin are widely used.
