The transition joint of aluminum clad steel plate is a three-layer composite material made of steel layer (low carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.), intermediate layer (pure aluminum or titanium) and aluminum alloy (5086, 5083 or 3003) by explosive welding.
According to the U.S. Navy standard MIL-J-24445A, the transition joints used for ship steel body and aluminum alloy must meet the following minimum mechanical properties:
